JOB DESCRIPTION
The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project is a global project focused on HIV, global health security, and combatting trafficking in persons using funding from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the United States Agency for International Development. EpiC is seeking a qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidate to serve in the role of Technical Advisor, HIV Prevention based in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City and focused on the following tasks:
Main responsibilities:
Technical Leadership (~60%)
Lead team implementing HIV prevention, testing, and HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) programming.
Oversee technical capacity building among project staff and 20+ community-based partners working on HIV prevention.
Work with community-based partners to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technical interventions.
Develop and lead innovations in HIV prevention and testing programming.
Ensure continuous quality improvement is applied at all levels of the health system.
Review program data and make appropriate programmatic pivots to meet targets and fill service gaps.
Develop manuscripts, presentations, and other knowledge products promoting successes, lessons learned, and knowledge gained to advance the global HIV response.
Lead reporting and respond to ad hoc requests related to HIV prevention.
Team Leadership (~40%)
Supervise a team of up to four individuals.
Define strategy for improving HIV prevention and document in work plans and subcontracts.
Collaborate with sustainability-focused staff to ensure the financial sustainability of community-based HIV prevention interventions.
Represent the organization at national and international events.
Facilitate collaboration and a supportive environment with implementing partners and other project staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, social sciences administration, quality improvement or related field; advanced degree, including master’s in public health or a medical doctorate preferred.
At least 10 years’ experience in management or technical implementation of international development projects in Vietnam, preferably in HIV outreach, testing, counseling, or clinical care.
Exceptional skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity and comfort working with program data and using it to inform project pivots.
Experience with USAID, PEPFAR, and the Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control preferred.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
Ability to travel as necessary.
